I'll be honest: I was never a raincoat girl. Rainy days meant whatever waterproof thing I could find by the door, worn with zero enthusiasm. Then I found this oversized purple raincoat, and everything changed. You guys, this is the cutest thing I have ever seen for those cold, grey, rainy days.
It started as a practical purchase and turned into the piece I reach for first. Now a rainy morning isn't something to dread and dress around — it's just an excuse to put this on. I add my accessories and I'm good to go.
Oversized, but make it flattering
Here's the part I didn't expect. It's an oversized cut, which I usually avoid because "oversized" can so easily tip into shapeless. Not this one. It has the cutest little buttons, and you can cinch the waist — so even though it's roomy and easy to layer, pulling that tie in instantly gives you a shape. Oversized and flattering at the same time, which I genuinely didn't think was possible in a raincoat.
The colour is the other thing. Ultra Violet is rich and a little bit unexpected, the kind of purple that turns a dull-weather outfit into the whole look. Worn over all-white with a cross-body bag, it does all the talking.
It has cute little buttons, and you can cinch the waist — so even though it's oversized, it makes it really flattering.
My rainy-day uniform
These days my bad-weather routine is almost embarrassingly simple. White trousers, a white top, the Ultra Violet over the top, sunglasses on out of habit, and my accessories. That's it. I'm good to go for a rainy day, and for the first time I'm actually a little bit pleased when the forecast turns.
One tip if you're ordering: the fit is meant to be roomy, so don't panic at "oversized" — that's the point, and the waist tie lets you control it. I'd say take your usual size for that relaxed look, or size up if you want even more room to layer underneath.
